18 Jan 2011: BPS Bearing Now An Authorised SKF Distributor

In line with SKF Group strategy of serving the industrial aftermarket through independent distributors BPS Bearings and Technology Solutions, based in Bellville, has auto bearings been appointed an authorised SKF distributor.
Established in December 2009 and managed by Peter Churchill, BPS started trading in July 2010 and secured the appointment as an authorised SKF distributor in the same month. A level four B-BBEE contributor, BPS has eighteen highly skilled employees in three branches, Bellville, Paarden Eiland and Saldanha as well as an on-site Vendor Managed Warehouse.
“The Western Cape has a vast market potential and I believe that BPS can further enhance the reach that SKF’s superior quality product range already enjoys in a diverse industry in this region,” says Churchill. “As an authorised SKF distributor, we are continuing with the existing SKF staff, we are remaining in the same premises, our contact details are not altered so we are well equipped to service the aftermarket with SKF branded products – a name that is synonymous with engineering excellence and quality the world over. We are more than enthusiastic about our appointment and we look forward to offering SKF products and solutions to every market sector in the Western Cape,” Churchill says.
The appointment of distributors is not an entirely new policy as wind generator SKF South Africa has been supplying products and services through independent authorised distributors for quite some time. Distributors are responsible for approximately 80% of the industrial aftermarket representation.
